Like all parishes there are so many people that make up our community, each of us contributing what we are able to the life of the parish of St. James' Morpeth. The people that make up our parish cover all generations from babies and children to couples and newly weds, families and retirees. St. James welcomes families with children. We worship together at the Eucharist and enjoy social times together as well at morning teas and social events, such as the annual cricket match, dinners, breakfasts and various gatherings and events during the year. We would like the opportunity to welcome you into our community.
Parish Priest Fr. Roger Sharr is our full time parish priest and has held this position since September 2000. His gifts of teaching, listening, cooking and his ability to break open the Word are matched only by his sense of humour and all of this adds to the openness and dynamics of the parish. His inclusiveness allows all members of the community to find comfort and understanding in the Anglican tradition.
St. James' Guild St. James' Guild are a dedicated group who plan, organise and arrange a variety of events during the year, such as Car Boot Sales, Fetes, and catering. The Guild caters for many events within the Parish and catering is available for private functions also.
Mothers' Union MU is part of a world wide organisation that focuses on home and family, as well as supporting mission projects both here in Australia and overseas. MU meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 10.00am. Contact Faylie on 02 4933 3360 for further details
