St. James' Anglican Church Morpeth This parish exists for the glory of God and to proclaim the liberating gospel of Jesus Christ through the care of God's people and worship according to the rites of the Christian Church. Bishop Broughton, the first Bishop of Australia, consecreted the building in 1840. It is the desire of Anglicans to admit all people of goodwill to the altar of God.
